With a penchant for deep, emotive house and techno, UK artist Jozef K has already demonstrated the consistency and quality of his production skills across a plethora of world class labels including Last Night On Earth, Lossless and of course his stellar EP ‘Interdream Communication Techniques’ on Constant Circles. Ahead of his performance at our forthcoming label showcase in Brighton, we were excited to delve into his latest release on Mano Le Tough’s revered Maeve imprint.

Jozef’s ‘Loved And Lost’ is a definitive next-step in the producers musical timeline, easily marking his most accomplished work to date. Built on the trusted backbone of thoughtful techno, Jozef’s tracks elevate themselves above the noise; incorporating and fusing haunting melodic work with clinically precise and tasteful percussive layering.

‘Close’ is a hypnotic, mind-bending delve into Jozef’s signature sound. The title track, ‘Loved And Lost’ protrudes a similar mesmeric gaze, switching the 4/4 drums with swung, textured breaks. Adopting a 90’s, rave-esque aesthetic, ‘Nocturne’ is another stripped but tasteful club track designed for the early hours. Rounding things off is Naraka, with a lighter, more celestial remix from label veteran Kev Sheridan. Reminiscent of early piano house / Hacienda days, Sheridan’s version adopts and tastefully applies some classic and much loved troupes ever-present in the genre.

Impossible to pick a favourite track, this EP plays out like a mini album, a journey through late night soundscapes, from dark warehouses to heady sunrises. We love it.
