OFF Recordings was founded in Berlin by Andre Crom in 2008 and spent the following six years
growing into one of the leading underground house labels, known for championing uplifting dance floor bombs and hands in the air moments across a variety of sub-genres.
However, after this eclectic past, OFF has launched into 2015 with a new focus on melodic tech house & techno, reflected by a refreshed artist roster and an exciting switch of direction into darker groovier territories.
Leading the way are rising stars ME & her, who have delivered a stunning EP featuring the unique vocals of Billie Fountain, with an equally heavy hitting B-side, cementing their well earned place on the newly formed OFF roster.
The title track ‘Lost’, begins with deep bass accompanied by shakers and rainy percussion, but soon develops into a sphere of late-released melody and a beautiful melancholic vocal that takes the soul down to dusty places. On the remix is Nakadia, possibly Asia’s most beloved underground DJ, who reworks the track into a deep slice of progressive house, with a driving groove, sweeping synths, and darker sound-scapes.
But the secret weapon in this release could possibly be the B-side ‘April’; an upbeat instrumental track, with energetic chords and a killer hook on top of a deep chugging tech house groove. This is definitely one for the dance floor.
