For the last two years, London based imprint Inside Out Records have been faultlessly curating cutting edge deep house and techno from a wealth of underground artists.

And their latest offering, from label co-owner Stevie R, in partnership with Motek Music boss Matt Hardinge, is pushing the boundaries of electronic music genres and delivering something truly unique in a heavily saturated market.

Measuring the Universe, featuring stunning vocals from Shawni, is a beautifully rounded release with all bases covered, from after hours electronica to deep driving dance floor house.

With each version being a creative twist on the original, it is almost impossible to pick a favourite. The original mix swaggers with the vibe of 90s trip hop, with a nod to the likes of Portishead and Massive Attack. Berlin based Namito follows this electronica theme with a deep slow paced burner, and the mysterious MEK deliver a more driving interpretation.

But our picks of the bunch come from London based Si Tew, who sculpts the original into a beautiful soundscape of melodies and broken beats, and then Inside Out regular Kosmas, who delivers a dance floor ready slice of deep house.

Couple the amazing re-works with striking artwork and some beautiful video visuals, and you have a stand-out underground release.
