Carpharnaum is a street art exhibition housed in a derelict building in the town of Aix-les-Bains, South-East France. It is the brainchild of a French street artist, GRAFFMATT. His real name is Matthieu Laine, a native of Chambery in the same area. After completing his studies at la Martiniere-Diderot Art College, he opened his studio in his home town, where he is based today. Besides painting, which is his main pre-occupation, he also works in graphics and video.
GRAFFMAT also works in other media but retains his unique ‘street’ style.
