Get Physical Music is a label that really needs no introduction, having been the home of many revered artists and many genre defining tracks, M.A.N.D.Y ‘Body Language’ and Roland Clark bringing one of the best know vocals in electronic music on ‘I Get Deep’.
It’s now time for 2 of the hottest artists on the underground to combine forces and step up to the plate, Ibiza resident and island favourite Alice Clark and rising German star F.eht, who’ve been putting out some serious heat recently, both featuring on labels such as DECAY Records, Cyclic Records, Music Related, Baile Musik and Samani Music. They deliver the sublime ‘Montblanc’ as part of the ‘Get Physical Music presents 2018’ compilation mixed by Ben Hoo.
‘Montblanc’ is a smorgasbord of dubby, breakbeat influenced beats, some of the most groovy hats you’ll hear, distant vocal samples and that infectious rising and falling bass line. The sound of vinyl crackle, gated pads and bursts of a soaring synth remain a feature throughout as the drums and bass dance around each other creating a hypnotic groove which makes it impossible to keep your body still whilst listening. In the breakdown we hear some incredible drum work on the snares, constantly changing in velocity and length, swung to the max, building up to the drop and the reintroduction of that punchy kick drum and hip swinging beat.
