Extended Play is one of those rare labels that has curated a catalogue of high quality and credible music, managing to stay relevant but still remain underground over many years, now reaching an impressive 70 releases. And their latest offering is no exception – a stunning electro excursion courtesy of Dublin’s excellent Daser.
Lead track “Artificial Interface” is a dance floor electro workout, reminiscent of early UR records, which then gets a rework by one of the UK’s finest DJs and long standing Sub Club resident Domenic Cappello, who creates a superb hypnotic house interpretation that we could listen to on loop for days. The raw electro vibes continue in “Convent Inferno”, with its broken beat and jumping synth lines. However the pick for us from this release is the closing track “Low Serotonin” – a slow and tripped out journey through blissful melodic soundscapes over minimal drums. The beauty of this track is in its simplicity, and it really is a work of art.
