On Saturday 15th September we were lucky enough to be invited down to Shoreditch for the Take Note Academy London w/ Resident Advisor day of talks and masterclasses. The day was packed full of industry heads such as Alice Favre (LWE), Ben Pearce, B.Traits, HAAi, Martha amongst a strong list of other, with the performance / masterclasses from Thomas Ragsdale, Cassy, Tom Demac, Matador, Kasra Mowlavi.
The day was split over two floors and the rooms were both constantly full of people, eagerly listening and watching as they try to hone their skills within the industry, taking every tip possible from the roster of professionals assembled from every avenue within the scene.
There were opportunities for one to one sit downs with leading figures such as B.Traits and Cassy, who both with their combined experience can provide a unique insight into aspects of the careers that many of the attendees seek to go in to.
The live masterclasses upstairs were fantastic, with producers breaking down the elements of their tracks, one by one, and showing the instruments used, the equipment used in the engineering side in and out of the box, truly helping aspiring producers to understand the levels of a professionally finished product.
The day was rounded off with drinks, and 2 stunning performances from Silvia Kastel and Tom Demac downstairs, a perfect ending to the day with everyone on their feet dancing and interacting, networking and discussing the talks they’d heard and what they had picked up throughout the day
