Acclaimed South African singer, songwriter, poet and DJ Sio joins London’s Soul Quest Records for Losing Sleep, a deeply emotive three track exploration of love, longing and the thoughts that surface after dark.
Inspired by Sio’s experience of chronic insomnia, the EP transforms sleepless nights into spaces for reflection, tracing questions of what was, what might have been and what comes next. Her intricate harmonies, poetic lyricism and unmistakable voice unfold across soulful house, broken beat and jazz-infused electronic grooves shaped by Sean Green, From London, Max Sinàl, KingCrowney and Slxm Sol.
Our favourite, “Hello”, places Sio’s heartfelt vocals over a beautifully loose, shuffling broken-house rhythm. Soulful, understated and full of feeling, it captures the EP’s delicate balance between late-night introspection and dancefloor warmth.
