Never a label to rest on it’s laurels, CC favourite Motek Music continues to drive forward and push musical boundaries, and their latest release is no exception.
Relative newcomers Speaking in Tongues have delivered two original tracks that are flavoured with the deep hypnotic vibes of LA after parties – dark, rolling, and atmospheric. But it is on the remixes of the lead track, Billion Years to Nowhere, that this release really stamps its mark.
Canadian trio My Favorite Robot deliver a masterclass in Electronica for their rework, with a complex soundscape of synth and percussive textures evolving and interplaying across the length of the track and even a subtle nod to classic acid house and jungle tunes for the trainspotters.
On the flipside, Fabio Giannelli has stripped back the original mix into its core elements, and twisted them into a heavy slice of his trademark deep techno.
Out on 7th September, this is a surefire winner. Listen to the previews here:
