DrumPhill, aka James Sweeney, splits off from Project Ryan with Absence, the first track from his solo EP ‘Physically Able Mentally Unstable.’
The release features a standout remix from label family member Will Hofbauer, who flips Love My Jokes into an amapiano-leaning dancefloor burner, pushing the original into unexpected but very much welcome territory. There is also a collaborative cut, Strangled Duck, written with PhyLo Mason, adding another layer of hardcore energy to the record.
This release continues a strong run for the Protect Ryan camp and marks a confident step forward for Sweeney as a solo artist. Look out for other releases coming soon on Badtips, Judder, and Deadbeat.
