Needs is a London based record label and events initiative that uses music as a medium to spread love, unity and the idea of giving back; something we are particularly fond of at Constant Circles.
As part of the illustrious HeForShe London Arts Week – a global campaign that takes place annually around International Women’s Day – they are staging an inspiring all day event to explore and expand the challenging topic of gender equality and raise funds for their cause.
Held at The Oval Space, London on Sunday 11th March, the day will begin with engaging panel discussions curated by music industry heavyweights shesaidso, AIM (Association of Independent Music), Mixcloud and Resident Advisor before leading into empowering performances from Jackmaster, Peggy Gou, Bobby Pleasure and a very special guest into the evening.
You can find out more and get tickets on Resident Advisor and Facebook
Joining the influential figures already announced to be involved at this event are songwriter Carla Marie who was nominated for two Grammys for her work on Beyonce’s Lemonade, British singer-songwriter Chloe Howl who was shortlisted for the BRITs Critics Choice Award and London based singer Kyra who has supported the likes of Ed Sheeran and Boyz II Men on tour. That’s not to mention heavyweights from behind the scenes at the likes of Ninja Tune, Radar radio and Big Dipper Productions.
Needs x HeForShe aims to present diverse discussions, intimate conversations and pioneering ideas and initiatives from men and women from across the creative world with the hope of creating real change for both genders across the industry. A vinyl and digital EP will be released by Needs to coincide with the event featuring artists Peggy Gou and Juju & Jordash with bespoke cover artwork courtesy of The Line Girl.
All funds raised from the event and release are to be donated to UN Women NC UK to support their work to achieve gender equality.
